In this lecture, we discussed the Barbier-Wieland coupling reactions.

The Barbier–Wieland degradation is a procedure for preparation of one carbon shortening carboxylic acid using ester and Grignard’s reagent by converting tertiary alcohols into alkenes followed by oxidation.
