Benzyl alcohol and benzoic acid having the molecular formula C7H6O2 and C7H8O. The molecule having a benzene ring, and alcohol (Benzyl alcohol) and carboxylic acid (benzoic acid).
The freshly distilled benzaldehyde has been taken for the reaction. The synthesis has been follow cannizzaro reaction.
